Project Description

This project showcases a selection of brochure and folded print designs created for universities, tourism departments, libraries, and cultural events. Each piece was tailored to its client’s identity, using layout, typography, and color to communicate information clearly and visually. Across these works, I focused on building strong structure and hierarchy to organize complex content, while incorporating illustrations and visual motifs to enhance storytelling. The collection reflects my approach to editorial design, striking a balance between clarity and aesthetic expression, and preparing layouts suitable for large-scale print production. Together, these brochures demonstrate how thoughtful layout and visual systems can strengthen communication across diverse institutional contexts.

Yuyuan Garden – Architectural Folded Brochure
Material: 180g specialty paper
Quantity: 80,000 copies
Size: 11.2 in × 8.26 in
Project Year: 2024

Project Description:
This tri-fold brochure was designed for Yuyuan Garden, with a focus on integrating the garden’s iconic architectural silhouettes into a custom die-cut structure. The challenge was merging the irregular outline of the historic gate with a functional folding system while maintaining visual harmony across the panels. The interior spreads include a detailed bird’s-eye map of Yuyuan Garden, requiring a layout that balances dense information with aesthetic clarity.

Southeast University – Department of Philosophy and Science Brochure
Material: 157g specialty textured paper
Quantity: 500 copies
Size: 17 inches × 6.7 inches
Project Year: 2022

Project Description:
This six-panel brochure was designed for the Department of Philosophy and Science at Southeast University. The key challenge of the project was maintaining visual balance across six folds, organizing dense academic content and photography while ensuring clarity, readability, and openness. The layout employs generous spacing and a modular grid to prevent overcrowding, allowing each section to stand out with its own rhythm. The color palette centers on the department’s signature blue, creating a cohesive visual identity aligned with the school’s existing style. The brochure is printed on a lightly textured 200g specialty paper to enhance tactility and elevate the overall presentation.

Southeast University – Department of Sociology Brochure
Material: 200g coated paper
Quantity: 200 copies
Size: 14 inches × 8.8 inches
Project Year: 2022

Project Description:
This four-panel brochure was designed for the Department of Sociology at Southeast University. The brochure features decreasing panel widths, creating an exposed-edge structure that adds visual layering and guides the reading flow. When folded, each visible edge aligns with key section headers; when fully opened, these edges correspond directly to the interior content, maintaining a consistent logic between the folded and unfolded states. The design explores the relationship between structure and information, utilizing the physical form of the brochure to clarify hierarchy, enhance navigation, and create a dynamic yet coherent presentation.
